Blog 1 todays
I found it interesting on what we read on Steve Craig. I didn't picture advertisements the way I do now. But then I think it shouldn't be very surprising due to the way todays new generation is and for the way society has become. Now that I look at commercials Craig has a point on what he said about ads targeting genders. A lot of ads do use women to be or act in a sexual way with or without a product. The example that professor Anitnora used on Carl's Jr. was an excellent example of men's women, but also I think Victoria Secret ads also play a big part on men's women not just women's women due to their products. I agree with Craig on men fantasying about women in a sexual way, just due to the way advertisements like to use these famous celebrities promote a lot of products in a sexual way or just being plain revealing. Not also Craig has a point on men's women but also the way he describes about women's women ads. Women's ad like to promote a lot of diets making women feel insecure about themselves making them believe their is only one certain body we should all have. What are these advertisers really want to promote. I think society has a lot to do with todays advertisements and on how they really are advertised. Craig makes a BIG point on gender roles and how they catch audience attention.
