Summary:  Chapter 10 on Maya Angelou reading-
In chapter 10 Maya talks about a situation that happens with her mother and Pat Patterson. She speaks about how one night Mr. Patterson mad a mistake on cursing at her mother. After the incident Mayas mother mentions it to her siblings (Mayas uncles) and grandfather. Mayas uncles were known for being protective and mean when it came to their family. Maya never seen her uncles and grandfather furious which thrilled her to see how mean her family really was. Her uncles and grandfather run into Mr. Patterson which wasn't very good. They beat him and let him know that he has made a mistake by cursing at their sister.

Response: I loved this part even though it was violent. It showed me what the meaning of family is and how protective they were for one another. I like that, because I my self have a family that is protective over one another. Their mean also but don't harm anyone. My siblings and I were raised knowing family is always first that their isn't anything compared than family. So I actually liked the fact the Mayas family weren't scared to stick up for their own. As I myself am the way Mayas uncles are I don't like anyone messing or cursing at my siblings they mean more than anything whether they are older or younger than me their my blood but most importantly my family.

Summary: One of this weeks reading I found interesting was Ian Daly, "Virtual Popularity Isn't Cool-It's Pathetic".  Daly talks about how its easy to have friends on the internet, friends you may or may not know. Through out the years social media has raised. For example Facebook which started off a network for college students and now is considered another my space. Social networks have taken up most of peoples daily lives. People have grown to have this fantasy of them being so popular or famous all of a sudden. They tend to have over 100 friends knowing they do not know everyone on their network, or might just know 20 people out of the hundreds that they have. Not just the world of fantasy acquires of the media, but how private is your privacy? People that you yourself can see your profile even though you have it on private. Friends can tag you in certain pictures and they'd appear on their friends notifications without you being their friends. Nothing on the internet you post is private its saved somewhere or seen by man without you knowing. Social media has became big and addicting to some individuals, and they don't even notice. People tend to post what their doing what their eat, where they are on vacation ect. You think only certain people can visualize your networks but reality is nothing is private any more on the internet.

Response: I'd have to agree with Daily. Their is so many people who actually think on social media that their actually famous. Some people can do the most ridiculous thing and can become so popular on the internet. Once people get some many followers or some many likes their hooked! and can't stay off their Facebook, Instagram, or twitter. I myself have seen how much people do just to get attention weather its doing something unnecessary or almost being naked. Not only they try to grab peoples attention or they also just stay on networks to see what are certain peoples next moves or what is everyone up to or who went to this party who and who isn't dating. At my job my own job I tend to see people not socializing because their too busy looking at their Facebook or updating a post. It has completely gotten out of hand. And for nothing being private on the internet also is an actual true statement. I had always thought because I put my Facebook private I thought no one was able to see my stuff or pictures without having them as a friend. People were able to grab my pictures and save them and even post them without permission. I gave up on Facebook too many people act different and aren't themselves or like to start drama when all of that is unnecessary. When will people start realizing how much time has been wasted on social networks.
